Present were Jack Andersen, Chairman, Commissioners Dan Kling and James Krotz, County Clerk Sindy Coburn and Tom Shaal of the Sheridan County Journal Star.

Bruce Salisbury of Great Plain Communications met with the Commissioners to review the terms of a proposed 5-year contract for T-1 line services. The Board requested several revisions to the contract and will take up that matter again on February 18. The 5-year term, if approved, would save the County 20%.

The Board finalized plans for the public meeting with Ruth Sorensen, the State Property Tax Administrator now set for Thursday, February 18, 1 – 3 p.m. at the Rushville American Legion.

Road Superintendent Yardley presented to the Board his report for 2009.

Sheriff Robbins met with the Board to discuss the cost of medical services for inmates of the County Jail. The cost of such services continues to rise and we are exploring strategies for negotiating reduced rates from our providers.

At 11:00 the meeting recessed to the County Road Department Shop at the Courthouse Annex for the advertised hearing on the One and Six Year Road Plan. Four citizens were present to review the plan as presented by Road Superintendent Yardley. In response to public comment 2 projects were added to the Six-Year Plan. The plan will now be considered for approval by the Board and then submitted to the State Department of Transportation.

All meetings are open to the public and visitors are welcome.
